UH Architecture and Design Alumni Association

AIA Houston Sandcastle Competition

We represent the University of Houston as the official college team at the AIA Houston Sandcastle Competition, inviting all alumni, current students, and friends to compete with us in a sand sculpture design competition on Galveston’s East Beach.

From student scholarships and legislative advocacy, to alumni networks and communications, UHAA is working to enhance the value of your degree and your alumni experience, allowing alumni to contribute to the school that taught them so much and to pay it forward. We seek to assist our graduates with continuing education in their profession by offering events that hone their skills, networking events to expand opportunities, and encouraging employers to hire from our network.

Social Events and Parties

Our Annual Holiday Party is organized in partnership with the College of Architecture and Design to celebrate the holidays and hosts faculty, staff, and alumni for a social evening together.

ANNUAL EVENTS

Annual City Architecture Tour

Our organization prepares a chartered bus tour for alumni, architects, and architectural enthusiasts annually. We spend a weekend exploring the architecture of a city in Texas, from cutting-edge modern and residential projects to historic and exclusive sites, guided by the best experts on local architecture.

College of Architecture and Design Career Fair

Our Career Fair is held annually during the Spring at the Hines College of Architecture and Design and includes a calendar professional development events from resume prep to portfolio reviews to interview skills, culminating in our Firm Fair. We invite firms of all sizes and focuses who are interested in hiring, reviewing potential applicants, or increasing their firm’s profile with students in the college. We benefit current students and recent graduates by preparing them for and connecting them with job opportunities in Houston and beyond, drawing on our experience as professionals and connections to local industries.
